Hallam FM
Being a part of Planet Radio, Hallam FM is owned by Bauer Radio Limited and operates from its studios in Sheffield. Hallam FM had its first broadcast on 1st October 1974 with the intention of being an independent radio station serving South Yorkshire. At inception, Hallam FM operated on both an FM and AM frequency. Since it’s nearly 5 decades of operation, Hallam FM has experienced different from of branding and rebranding. This also involved new frequencies for different areas under its coverage.
Hallam FM’s Programs
Any form of Hallam’s FM local programming is straight out of its Sheffield Studios, while network programs is from the studios of Hit’s Radio in Manchester. The radio station also broadcast national bulletins by connecting to the Sky News Radio.
While Hallam FM is big on news, it’s also the destination of people who love good music around South Yorkshire. The FM station plays all of the biggest hits non-stop.

While Big John might be the most popular voice and program at Hallam FM, the station have had scores of presenters since DJ Johnny Moran made the first broadcast for the South Yorkshire radio station. In the past, Hallam FM has had Stuart Linnell, Cindy Kent, Tom Binns, Steve Banyard and many more.
Currently, you’ll hear the voices of Alex James, Fluer East, Jenny Longdon, Greg Burns, James Barr, Hattie Pearson, Steve Furnell, and Wes Butters. Other presenters include Scott Clarke, Jordan Lee, Mike Toolan, Sarah-Jane Crawford and many others.
