TFM Radio broadcasts from its Newcastle Upon Tyne studios where it serves listeners in North Yorkshire and County Durham. Being a part of the Hits Radio Network, TFM Radio is owned by Bauer Radio. TFM started broadcasting in 1975 and was originally owned by Sound Broadcasting Limited during which it broadcasted on a Medium Wave frequency. TFM has witnessed several transformations up until when it was bought by Bauer Radio.
TFM Radio’s Programs
One of the most popular program of TFM Radio is Steve & Karen Breakfast Show. It airs live 6am to 10am on weekdays. This is broadcasted from the Newcastle studio of the radio station in conjunction with Metro Radio. While TFM has most of its programs from Hit’s Radio Manchester Studios, there’s a place for local news bulletin. This is why there are two journalists that serves in gathering news in North Yorkshire and County Durham.
TFM local bulletins is reeled out on an hourly basis from 6am to 7pm on weekdays and 6 to 10am during weekends. National Bulletins is from Sky News Network which is broadcasted overnight. Other programs include the drivetime shows, TFM weekend by Scott Clarke, and many others.
TFM Radio Presenters
While it was called Radio Tees, there are a good number of presenters who have worked with the Radio Station. Presenters such as Mark Page, Tony Gilham, John Simmons and others were the voices on TFM Radio in the past. Today, TFM Radio has John Isherwood, Mike Toolan, Hattie Pearson, Scott Clarke, Stuart Elmore, Steve and Karen, and many others as the regulars.
