Radio City is based and broadcasts from Liverpool and made it first broadcast in 1974. Radio City transmits from its Allerton Park Transmitter in South-East Liverpool while it has a transmitter in Bilinge Hill, Mersey, and Hope Mountain. While Radio City has undergone series of transformation over the years, it has continued to maintain its quality programming.
Radio City’s Programs
Local programs on Radio city is often between 6am to 10am on weekdays and 12noon to 4pm on weekends. The broadcast is made from the Liverpool studios of Radio City. However, networked programs is made from Hit Radio’s Manchester headquarters.
Radio City is interested in both news and sport. In the area of news, local bulletins is rolled out everyday. There’s also the drivetime, breakfast and traffic shows on Radio City. Radio City airs the national news bulletin from Sky News Radio.
As regards Sport programming, Radio City is titled towards the Merseyside teams, Liverpool and Everton. The station use to run live commentaries of matches on both teams until the 2014/2015 Premiership seasons. To compensate for that, the station hosts a Legends Phone in show air twice weekly on Monday and Thursday evenings. The radio show is hosted by John Aldridge and Graeme Sharp.
